Biteship automatically calculates the distance between the sender’s and receiver’s addresses using a map API (geolocation). Factors affecting the calculation include:
- Actual travel distance via roads (not straight line)
- Maximum service radius depending on the courier
- Service availability depending on the area
3. How Pricing is Calculated
Pricing for Instant and Sameday services is determined by:
- Delivery distance (km): The farther the distance, the higher the cost
- Type of service: Instant is generally more expensive than Sameday
- Package weight and dimensions (for some couriers)
- Service area: Intercity rates may differ
Each time you search for services via the Biteship API or dashboard, prices will be displayed automatically based on actual data from each courier.
6. Tips for Using Instant & Sameday Services
- Make sure sender and receiver addresses are within the service coverage area.
- Check pickup schedules and cutoff times of each courier.
- Ensure the receiver’s phone number is active to facilitate delivery.
- Use the Biteship API or dashboard to view rates, real-time estimated times, and available courier services based on pickup and destination addresses
