The Cash on Delivery (COD) feature on the Biteship dashboard allows you to create shipments with payment methods made on the spot by customers. This article will explain in detail how to set up and manage COD orders through the Biteship dashboard.
What is COD on Biteship?
COD (Cash on Delivery) is a payment method where customers pay for their orders directly to the courier upon receiving the goods. Biteship facilitates this method for couriers that support COD services.
How to Create a Request Order Using the COD Feature
Here are the steps to create an order using the COD method through the Biteship dashboard:
1. Login to the Biteship Dashboard
Log in to your account via dashboard.biteship.com.
2. Access the "Order" Menu
- Click the Shipping menu on the left side of the dashboard, then go to the Orders tab.
- Select the “Send Item” button.
3. Fill in Shipping Information
Complete the following shipping data:
- Sender’s address and recipient’s address. (Make sure the data entered is complete with phone numbers and the correct postal codes to avoid unwanted issues such as changes in shipping costs and others.)

Item details, including weight, dimensions, and description. (Double-check that the weight is accurate and the package size matches the scale to avoid additional weight / payment remaining during the payment process).
4. Select a Courier that Supports COD
- After filling in the shipping data, Biteship will display a list of available couriers.
- Select a courier that supports COD services (marked with a “COD available” or “Tersedia COD” label on the courier options).
- Ensure the chosen service indeed supports payment on delivery.
- Check or activate the "COD" or "Pay on Delivery" option in the payment section.
- Enter the amount to be paid by the recipient upon receiving the goods (COD value. Shipping cost + item/package price).
*NOTE: If the COD courier does not appear, try triggering by selecting a courier that already has COD available in the courier options. Make sure the COD option is activated, then the available COD courier choices will appear.
5. Confirm and Create the Order
- Review the order details again.
- Click “Create Order” to complete the process.
Tips for Using the COD Feature
- Make sure the recipient’s address is complete and clear to minimize the risk of returned items.
- Use the tracking feature on the dashboard to monitor the delivery progress.
- Inform customers that they should prepare cash corresponding to the COD amount when receiving the goods.
- Check the courier’s policy regarding the COD fund disbursement time to match your expectations.
